How pay-as-you-go support works

Not every business wants a monthly package, and we do not think you should be penalised for that. Pay-as-you-go is a proper standing offer: published rates, no contract, no minimum spend, and the same engineers who look after our package clients.

The rates

All prices include GST, with the ex-GST figure in brackets.

  • Business hours support - $181.50 per hour ($165 ex GST). Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm Melbourne time, excluding Victorian public holidays.
  • Onsite call-out - add $82.50 ($75 ex GST) to the hourly rate when we come to you.
  • Unscheduled after-hours - $275 per hour ($250 ex GST). Work outside business hours that was not booked in advance.
  • Emergency - $363 per hour ($330 ex GST). Drop-everything response to something that has stopped your business.

Scheduled after-hours work is different again. A migration or an upgrade planned for a Saturday so nobody loses a working day is quoted in advance, not charged at emergency rates. Ask and we will price it before you commit.

How to book work

  1. For a fault, lodge a ticket at portal.yougrowit.com.au or email support@yougrowit.com.au, exactly as a package client would.
  2. For planned work or a quote - a new computer set up, a move, a project - email admin@yougrowit.com.au.
  3. If your business has stopped, call 03 9028 4358.

Give us the same detail you would give any engineer: what you were doing, what happened, who is affected and when it started. It costs you money to have someone work out the basics, so front-loading them is worth a few minutes.

How scheduling works, honestly

Package clients are monitored, so we often see their problems before they call, and their tickets carry a contracted response target. Pay-as-you-go work is scheduled around those commitments.

In practice that means most pay-as-you-go jobs are picked up the same day or the next business day, but there is no response target attached to them and we will not pretend otherwise. If certainty about response matters to your business, a package is the thing that buys it - see What is included in each support package.

How you are billed

  • Time is billed as worked and invoiced after the job.
  • Anything sizeable is quoted in writing before we start, so you approve a number rather than discover one.
  • If a job turns out to be bigger than the phone call suggested, we stop and tell you before spending more of your money.
  • Hardware, licences and third-party costs are separate from labour and shown as their own lines.

What pay-as-you-go does not include

This is the honest limitation. Without a package there is no monitoring, no scheduled patching, no managed backup and no ongoing security baseline. Nothing is watching your systems between calls.

The practical effect is that faults are found when a person notices them, which is usually at the least convenient moment. A failing disk announces itself by failing, rather than by us seeing the warning three weeks earlier. That is a reasonable trade for some businesses and a bad one for others - it depends on how much a lost day costs you.

Moving to a package later

Plenty of clients start pay-as-you-go and move to a package once the hourly bills start looking like a monthly fee with worse outcomes. There is no onboarding fee and no lock-in, so it is a decision you can make when it suits, not one you have to get right at the start.
